Kapoor’s installation moves past a scale familiar with sculpture
and takes it to a level more similar to architecture. The sculpture itself changes
the dynamic of the architecture altogether by juxtaposing itself to the existing
setting through the use of colour (&materiality) and form. Juxtaposition or
the combination of alternative forces can be a powerful tool in architecture as
conflicting elements when put together can often have a greater effect than if the
elements are left alone in solitary.
